After entering Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park from either the corner gate at Xinyi Road and Hangzhou South Road or the corner gate at Aiguo East Road and Hangzhou South Road, you will find the entrance to the Hoop Pine Walkway. The walkway runs through the Hu-Bei (Tiger's Back)Ecological Area, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and diverse plants on both sides along the way.
Most of the trees in this area are Hoop Pine (Araucaria cunninghamii), interspersed with a few Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria excelsa). The shade from these trees is so dense that it remains cool and refreshing even in the middle of summer, making it a rare and peaceful forest trail in the heart of the city.
