The Magic of Volume: Botero Exhibitionis the first major exhibition of the Colombian artist ever presented in Taiwan. Today, Botero is regarded as one of the most important painters of the twentieth century, and this tribute highlights both the richness and the technical diversity of his œuvre, celebrated worldwide for its unique style based on the exaltation of form and volume.With more than 118 works, including paintings, drawings, watercolors and sculptures—some never before exhibited—this presentation offers visitors in Taipei a rare opportunity to explore the creative universe of a master whose originality has left an indelible mark on the history of art.

This year's theme, "Colorful Shadows," continues last year's concept, "A Beam of Light," using art to express the resilience and life force of people with disabilities. The exhibition brings together more than one hundred outstanding works by artists with disabilities from various regions, featuring a diverse range of artistic forms, including ink painting, Western-style painting, photography, digital art, mixed media, ceramic sculpture, and AI-generated art.Centered on the idea that "Shadows Are Actually Colorful," the exhibition invites visitors to look beyond conventional perceptions and discover the rich, nuanced inner worlds of people with disabilities. Through these artworks, audiences can experience the vibrant colors of lives shaped by perseverance, creativity, and the powerful interplay between personal experience and artistic expression, transcending physical limitations.

Dr. Chen Chihping is both a physician and an artist, upholding the philosophy of "cherishing life and valuing benevolence," believing that both artistic creation and appreciation can bring healing power to the mind and body.Kuo Yenya is a full-time artist whose creative philosophy is "taking art as faith and creation as spiritual practice," believing that art is an accumulation of wisdom and life experiences.This exhibition features over one hundred exquisite oil paintings, acrylic works, and other diverse media creations, leading viewers into the vibrant artistic world of life.

Renowned as a sketching master, 92-year-old Hong Kong artist He Zi possesses a deep academic foundation. His diverse work spans traditional ink landscapes, bird-and-flower paintings, figures, Western oils, bold calligraphy, and modern abstract art.This exhibition features monumental, wide-ranging pieces highlighting his stylistic evolution. Each work is a heartfelt testament to his lifelong dedication and artistic resilience in overcoming severe eye illness.

The exhibition brings together nearly 50 artists from Taiwan and Japan, showcasing 123 works across a wide range of media, including painting, ceramics, and mixed media. The youngest participant, 16-year-old Yu-Jui Chen, demonstrates remarkable creativity and imagination through his work The Battle of the Three Kingdoms. The oldest participant, 79-year-old Kiyoshi Sakai from Japan, conveys a vibrant zest for life through his ceramic creations, characterized by their simplicity and childlike charm.Now in its 15th year, Winds from Shigaraki continues to highlight creative expressions that transcend language, culture, and conventional boundaries. The exhibition also remains committed to advancing artistic inclusion and equal access to the arts, enabling people with intellectual disabilities to be recognized and respected as artists in their own right.

86-year-old artist Wu Meibau's work spans landscapes, still lifes, figure art, and ceramics. Her early works were characterized by vibrant and unrestrained colors, while her recent pieces showcase profound artistry through clean and concise brushstrokes. Her ceramic creations further break through traditional forms, demonstrating a free and rich creative vocabulary.This exhibition features over one hundred oil paintings and ceramic works, selected from more than sixty years of her creative output, showcasing her abundant creative energy and diverse artistic style.

Jointly curated by Chen Po-Yu, Fang Hsin-Kai, and Wei Tzu-Yu, this exhibition presents around 50 artworks exploring different ways of perceiving the world.Through three sections—A Brave New World, Dream Maps, and The Invisible Gaze—the exhibition examines how technology, dreams, memory, and imagination shape our understanding of reality.Chen Po-Yu reflects on technological control and social anxiety; Fang Hsin-Kai creates dream-inspired narratives rooted in the subconscious; and Wei Tzu-Yu explores the impact of unseen forces on human emotions and behavior.Together, their works invite viewers to reconsider how perception constructs the realities we experience.

Ms. Hsu Yuefang, born in 1942, is celebrating her 85th birthday this year, which also marks the 60th anniversary of her marriage—a blissful "diamond-gold" union—with her beloved husband. To commemorate these significant milestones, she is holding a retrospective ink-wash painting exhibition as a profound tribute to the passage of time through her brush and ink.This exhibition features a curated selection of over one hundred works spanning her career, showcasing diverse artistic styles such as gongbi (meticulous brushwork) and traditional ink-wash painting. With subject matter ranging from flora and fauna to human figures, the exhibition serves not only as a comprehensive retrospective of her personal artistic journey but also as a heartfelt tribute to the mentorship and lasting memory of the late Zhao Yunsong, Bao Rong, and Zhang Keqi.
