CKS Memorial Hall

Main Hall.

The main hall of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial was designed by renowned architect Yang Cho-cheng. The full structure occupies an area of about 15,000 square meters, while the total height is about 70 meters. The platforms, the hall, and the roof are 14.5, 24 and 31.5 meters in height, respectively. The roof consists of layered dougong and a crown. The main hall sits at the east end of the grounds and faces west. Within it is the Bronze Statue Hall. The interior of the platforms contains an art and exhibition space.

The tented roof is constructed in an octagon shape, with double eaves. Covered in Chinese blue-glazed tiles, under the eaves are multiple layers of large dougong (bracket sets). The roof crown is 5.25 meters tall, and shines a golden hue against the blue sky.
