Named after the traditional Feng Shui concept of the "Tiger's Back"—which refers to a protective geographical formation on the right flank of a site—the Hu-Bei Ecological Area was created to enhance the biodiversity and landscape of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park. Today, it serves as a serene urban sanctuary and an outdoor classroom for the public and students alike.
Reflecting the unique growth habits of different species, the area is thoughtfully divided into zones for endemic Taiwanese plants, fruit trees, and seasonal flowering plants. Educational signs are placed alongside the vegetation, allowing visitors to discover the park's rich plant life while fostering a deeper connection to the local environment.
