A large bronze statute dominates the main hall. Inscriptions on the wall above and behind the seated figure are the Chinese characters for Ethics, Democracy and Science. These three words are the essence of the Three Principles of the People, also the essence of Chiang's political thinking. That is, Ethics is applied to practice the Principle of Minzhu (the People's Connection/Relation, Government of the People or Nationalism).
Democracy is applied to realize the Principle of Minquan (the People's Power or Government by the People), and Science is applied to realize the Principle of Minsheng (The People's Welfare/Livelihood or Government for the People). Inscriptions on the side walls are:The purpose of life is to improve the general life of humanity and The meaning of life is to create and sustain subsequent lives in the universe, which depict the motivation and ambition throughout Chiang's life. Under the roof of the main hall is a giant ceiling featuring the national emblem, a solemn and majestic design.
